Welcome to the Bioinformatics Resource Center (BRC), a meta tool that helps biomedical researchers find and evaluate tools, databases and educational resources. Using collective intelligence technology, the BRC enables you to view ratings and comments entered by other users, and to submit your own. It also gives you key details for each resource such as the description, URL and PubMed ID.

You do not need an account to browse resource details and user comments, or to submit numeric ratings. Simply drill down through the categories and sub categories. You will see a table that displays available resources, their average user ratings in four major areas, and an overall rating calculated by the BRC. Click the name of a resource, and you’ll get detailed information. You’ll also be able to numerically rate the resource in four areas: Functionality, Speed, Ease of Use and Help System.

To add or edit comments about a resource, you will need to obtain a BRC account by completing the registration form. Once you have logged in and selected a resource, you will see a series of Edit icons. Simply click one of these icons to edit the text below it, and click the Save icon when you’re done.

For additional support at any time, click the Help link in the top-right area of the screen.
